When God Multiplies What You Offer

We all loved stories from the bible because there were so many miracles that happened. And it makes us somehow think that they are extraordinary back then. Yes there are stories which tells directly how they maturely walk with God / follow God that’s why He poured out different kinds of miracles which greatly inspire us today.

The problem nowadays is that we lack faith. We generalize believing that the time for miracles is just before not now. It’s a lie. God still do miracles and we can testify it to the world. We continuously experience the miracle of God but unfortunately we want something that is super extraordinary. Even today, many people want to see how a sea or river opens in between where people can walk through. Know matter how desperately we desire for that, if it’s not God’s will for it to happen, then it never will. But for sure, He will let us experience a miracle which we did not even imagine happening.

I will share to you a situation in the bible which I like most since I am in the stage of being a youth. In John 6, the bible tells us about the time Jesus is on His busy schedule sharing the Word. And when He saw a huge crowd following, He asked Philip regarding the food which they will provide for the crowd to eat. But it says their that He only tested him. In fact, He already knew what miracle He will do that day. After their conversation, there was a boy who offered 5 small barley loves and 2 small fish. Jesus took the loves and gave thanks then they fed the crowd which is about 5 thousand in number..

Here is the thought to ponder:

1.) A boy offered the meal.

At that point in time, many people had been following Jesus because of His miraculous works. I believe that those crowd will not follow without having something to fill themselves (food).

a.) I do believe that there are many people who has food. But only 1 person offered it to Jesus, the boy.

b.) All kinds of people are there, rich and poor. Since Jesus had followers, I was thinking that the rich people there could have offered their resources to help feed thousands. No one came to offer their resources. Only the boy offered. Everyone hesitated.

c.) Jesus accepts offering from anyone.

2.) Jesus loves to accept our offerings.

If we will be discussing about the followers of Jesus, I believe, the crowd contains different age groups. Not just old ones because it was cited that a boy offered a meal. Nowadays, when we say boy, we can’t even identify them as youth or teenager. A boy normally ranges 6-12 years old. To dig deeper, Jesus could simply feed the multitude without the boy but Jesus accepted the offering and made a miracle through it.

God values and acknowledges our offerings

3.) God multiplies what we offer.

Imagine, it started from 5 small barley loaves and 2 small fish, but it ended up feeding about 5 thousand men. A simple offering helps fed the people. I believe Jesus don’t want to emphasize only His power, but how he multiplies what we offer. :-)

I was totally shocked when God made me understand this passage clearly. I’ve been hearing this since my sunday school years but to be honest, I realized it’s worth just weeks ago. As a youth, we can say that we are ordinary men. No skills, No talents, nothing to be proud of. Here’s the lesson you should understand.

“When God uses a person, it doesn’t mean that he has extraordinary qualifications. It doesn’t mean he’s far better than the others. But always remember this, God only appoints a person because he is called to serve. If you will analyze stories in the bible, the mighty men of God came from ordinary people.”

- Joseph has been rejected by His brothers but he was called to be a Governor in Egypt.

- David is not well experienced in battle but he overcomed goliath.

- Moses is not confident to speak publicly but he was called speak in behalf of God.

- many more…

The point here is God don’t look on our qualifications. He just qualifies us to serve Him. When God called you, you have nothing to be proud of. Nothing to offer except your life.

The boy only offered a meal. It may look very ordinary however through that simple act of offering, God did an extraordinary miracle, one of the best miracles written in the bible.

Now, I want you to ask yourself ,”What if I offer my life to God?” Guess what, He will not just feed thousands but rather He will use you to help save thousands of people facing eternal hell. If you will just offer your life to God, God can make one of the best miracles coming from your life.

God can make extraordinary miracle through you. Again, God does not look at your qualifications, but He qualifies you to serve Him.

Don’t forget: GOD MULTIPLIES WHAT YOU OFFER!
