Battle In The Mind

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Sin does not start on the act of doing it. Everything we do all starts in the mind. As science says, our mind is the control center of our lives. Our actions are directed by what we think. If we wanted to finished the task God gave us, I guess we need to make sure that we take full control of our minds properly. It is said that Satan is the greatest lier of all. He puts every deception in our minds that is why we sin. If us christians would desire to live a righteous life, pleasing and acceptable to God, we need to put our minds to Jesus, not on Satan’s lies!

If we don’t rebuke Satan’s lies in our minds, we will end up acting on sin.

I often here people say, “I do struggle regarding sin.” I can’t refuse to do evil things. The question is? Who control their minds? It is either, God or the evil forces in this world. The bible says in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

If mighty preachers of God renew their minds daily, how much more us, ordinary individuals. Studying the Scripture (Bible) is essential because it is how God speaks to us. How could we stop sinning if the only thing that says walk righteously, is the one we normally reject.

To victoriously end this battle; Focus your eyes on Jesus. Read His word and get inspiration to do His will. When we resist temptation, the power of sin gets weaker and our spirit gets stronger. On the other hand, every time we sin, our spirit gets weaker and weaker. The bible clearly says in Galatians 5;16, “But I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

Daily Devotion Conclusion:

The battle is in our minds. If we feed our minds with good thoughts / godly inspiration, it will produce good fruit and proper lifestyle. Live by the spirit. Don’t follow the desires of your flesh, listen to what your spirit dictates. When we became a christian, God requires us to live by the spirit. You will only know you live by the spirit if you see in your life the fruit of the spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
