When we talk about true christianity, it is always accompanied by struggles and trials. Living as a genuine christian is avery tough life long process. Not all the time you are spiritually ok. Most often you are is tested in faith. People will disrespect you. Instead of receiving good words, people will tease you. The more you change your life for good, the more people will tell you how boring and religious you are.
Reality speaking, the time a person becomes a true christian, hardships starts rolling. Things seem to be falling apart. Problems arises. Relationships are shaken. This does not mean that God is brutal or sadistic in nature. Listen carefully:
1.) Most of the time, hardships comes our way because we simply reap what we sow on our past lives. We did not live a righteous life. We tested a lot of sinful lifestyle and many more.. In short, we can’t blame God for what’s happening. The funny is thing is that, normally reaping time starts when we started walking in Christ.
I often hear christians testify that before the devote themselves to knowing Christ, everything seems to be perfect. Less problems. Peaceful life. Fun living. Nothing much of pressures. I believed you also heard some christians murmuring to God, why do unbelievers don’t struggle? You know what the answer is? Why would the enemy test them if they don’t have faith? So basically the enemy don’t bother giving them much problems because if they do, then people will all end up calling God.
When you face trials, just accept that it’s part of the consequences that we have face strongly and courageously.
2.) Our faith is tested. Living a christian life is not easy. Instead of comfort we will distressed, right? Testings and trials is I guess a normal part of our christian living. It doesn’t mean that God is brutal and sadistic in nature. Definitely not! He is loving, comforting and a faithful provider. According to 1 Peter 4:12-19,
“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And,
“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.“
This verse is enough for us to be reminded that we should stay strong and courageous. We may face difficult times which confuse us, but let us not worry because God assured us of help and comfort. In fact, before problems arises, God already has in stored solution for us. God won’t let us down. Every time problem arises, always meditate James 1:12, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under tiral, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.“
God did not forget giving us instructions. There are a lot of verse which could inspire us to face every trial with persistence. Yes it would be very hard at the time we are facing it, but it takes REAL FAITH to overcome.
God simply wants us to grow mature in faith. Not doubting. Contineously growing. Even the mighty men of God written in the bible faced hardships. In Hebrews 11:17,“By faith, Abraham, when God tested him, offered his son Isaac as a sacrifice.”
Always remember, when God allows us to experience trials, He just wanted to increase our faith in a much higher level; for a much higher calling.
Spiritual Encouragement:
When Moses sent out 12 spies to the promise land. 10 of them are negative and fearly about conquering it. 2 of them have faith in God. They know it will be conquered by God. Guess what, when the Israelites take over the land, only 2 of the 12 spies entered, Joshua and Caleb.
There are a lot of giants in our lives. Giants that seemed to be unstoppable. Don’t ever forget that God is bigger than all the giants in our lives. He is the creator of all things. He orchestrates everything to make life worth living. So before you doubt and fear, remind yourself; “WITH ME IS BIGGER THAN GIANTS.“
