“But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Matthew 12:36-37 (NIV)
Our world offers the greatest freedom. People rise up proclaiming the rights to do whatever they want as long as they are not directly affecting each other. The same way, our actions are always accompanied by our WORDS!
I’ve been with different kinds of people. When I was in the main city for college, I met a lot of people who speaks the deadliest kind words.
They don’t give encouraging words, in fact, they speak harshly towards each other and speak curses as if it’s just a joke.
When I went back in bicol, I seldom hear harsh words. I’m happy that I mingled with a good group of individuals from our youth ministry and they served as my best buddies here in our place. Since most of them are matured christians, ofcourse I seldom hear them speak badly against each other.
I am telling about this major groups of friends I had back then up to now. I’m sure you can relate to me and probably you’ve met a much different kind of people. The point here is that the bible says “we need to be watchful about what our mouth says.” For other people, they thought that words are just a mere sound that comes from our mouth. Unfortunately we all believe that the words we profess directly affects our lives and of others.
Daily Devotion Conclusion:
Before you speak, analyze the words that you want to say. Most often than not, it’s very hard to speak good things for others but it’s very easy to kill them through our words. Always remind yourself that you will take account to every careless words you say. The bible clearly says that “Do not judge, or you too will be judge.” The same way, give it a try to encourage every person you meet by giving words of wisdom.
Daily Devotion Application:
God won’t extend your life if you don’t have a purpose to fulfill. As you start your day, ask God what words of wisdom will he gives you. Then desperately look for a person who you will give encouragement. Your friends or relatives may not tell your about their struggles but I’m sure God will reveal to you their need for God’s Word.
