The Book of Psalms is one of my favorites since before because it shows how David prays and how he adores God through his songs. Among the words of David, what I like most is from Psalms 25:4-5, it says, “Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.“
Have you ever prayed in this manner?
I believe most people do pray everyday but there is a big difference on how and what they pray for. Most people pray for blessings, supplication, asking forgiveness and saying thank you. However David wants us to break this religious way of praying. He wanted us to pray not just for our daily needs instead he wants us to pray for God’s plan over our lives.
Here’s what normally happens: People wake up in the morning, they simply say “Thank you to God for a new day” and then they start living their busy day. And once they arrived home at night, all they can say is “Thank you Lord for everything that happened.” This is a sad truth because most people don’t even ask for God’s plan. They don’t bother ask God the purpose why they are still alive. All they care for is their life alone and not God’s plan!
It’s now time to break this religious way of praying. I strongly believe God deserves a more sincere prayer than that.
Daily Devotion Conclusion:
When you pray, don’t focus merely on what you want to achieve. God’s plan is always better than our plans. His dreams and far greater than our dreams. As you pray, seek God for His ways. Don’t pursue the direction you want to take, always move towards God’s route for your life. What I learned in this life is that the best thing we could request God is “Teach me your Ways.”
Believe it or not, we are not wise enough to decide for ourselves. We don’t just need His guidance, but His ways alone!
