K’ JAM HISTORY
K’ Jam Astig Kabataan is a 2½ hour radio program every Tuesday from 6:30-9:00 in the evening at DWLB FM (89.7 MHz, a community radio located at the third floor of the Municipal Hall Building, Labo, Camarines Norte).
It was conceptualized and organized by a group of young people with common passion and desire to influence the young generation of today thru broadcast media, an easy and effective way to give valuable information on the air. This radio program teaches the youth of today good values and right principles to follow and live by, with a dream of building a peaceful, God-fearing and productive society in the future.
The radio program was first aired at DWLB FM on October 5, 2006. At first, almost all the K’ Jammers were nervous because they have no experience yet in broadcast media. But now, after months of honing their skills, K’jam was acknowledged as the #1 youth-oriented radio program in DWLB and Camarines Norte in 2007. There are different segments in the program like – trivia, text greetings, health tips, thought for the week, funny jokes, live acoustic session and weekly topic discussion with special guests.
The K’ Jammers have been part of several community projects like Medical and Dental Mission at Malacbang, Paracale, Camarines Norte, Operation Christmas Child, Summer Youth Camp 2007 & 2008, Miss Kalikasan Earth 2007 & 2008, Bible Week Celebration and Bible Distribution at the following schools – Manila Bicol Southroad Academy (MBSRA), Camarines Norte College (CNC), and Labo Science and Technology High School (LSTHS), Basud National High School.
K’Jam is also organizing different kinds of events just to preach the gospel of Christ.
